Student Health and Wellness

Providing health and wellness resources for students

Guided by faith and a commitment to care, we promote student health and well-being through programs that encourage physical fitness, safety, and active lifestyles—providing essential resources from hygiene kits to bikes and helmets.

Personal Care Packets

SAM donates funding for children to have necessary toiletries at home. Care packets include essentials like a toothbrushes, toothpaste, a comb, a brush, lip balm, facial tissues, soap, shampoo, and a nail file. These small items help students come to school clean, confident, and ready to focus on learning.

Wheels of Hope – Bike Program

Starting in the fall of 2026, Wheels of Hope will serve 75 – 100 elementary and middle school-aged children each year, prioritizing those from families experiencing economic hardship and already connected to SAM’s support services. By providing bicycles, helmets, and safety gear, the program promotes regular physical activity in a fun and accessible way. Riding a bike encourages cardiovascular health, builds strength and coordination, and helps children develop lifelong fitness habits. Participants will also receive bicycle safety education, empowering them to ride confidently while staying active in their neighborhoods.

Through collaboration with local schools, health and recreation organizations, first responders, and community partners, Wheels of Hope creates a supportive network that reinforces wellness and active living. These partnerships expand access to safe riding spaces and trusted resources, helping children integrate physical activity into their daily lives. More than just transportation, each bicycle represents an opportunity for movement, independence, and improved well-being—giving children the tools to build healthier, more active futures.
